About CXRE Labs

CXRE (/kor/) is a creative and experimentation lab working at the intersection of art, design, technology, and culture. We build brand systems, digital experiences, physical objects, and experimental projects alongside independent creatives across disciplines. CXRE Residency is our first major public residency program, launching in Downtown Halifax in the summer of 2026.

About the Role

The Program Coordinator is the operational backbone of CXRE Residency S1. You are the person who makes sure things actually happen: residents are supported, events run smoothly, partners are communicated with, and the space functions as the creative hub it is supposed to be.

This is a part-time, in-person contract role running the full six-month flagship period, July to December 2026. Because the residency is evening-anchored, your most active hours will be late afternoons, event nights, and weekends when programming is on.

Program Coordinator

Responsibilities

  • Manage all resident communications from onboarding through to program completion

  • Run weekly check-ins to track project progress and flag concerns early

  • Own the master calendar across critiques, workshops, events, and partner sessions

  • Handle event logistics for open studios, talks, workshops, and evening activations

  • Work with Halifax creative organizations to plan social nights and community programming

  • Coordinate the procurement process and maintain the budget spend tracker

  • Support Creative Director with partner communications, reporting, and documentation requests

  • Manage press and media inquiries in coordination with Creative Director

  • Maintain the archive folder structure and collect resident deliverables throughout the program

  • Support the final exhibition opening from guest list to day-of logistics

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and communication skills — you stay on top of many moving pieces without dropping things

  • Experience in event coordination, arts administration, program management, or a related field

  • Genuine interest in creative practice, art, design, or cultural programming

  • Comfortable in a fast-moving environment where the plan sometimes changes

  • Available for evenings and events — this is not a 9-to-5 role

  • Based in Halifax with reliable availability throughout the program period

  • Proactive and direct — if something is going wrong, you say so before it becomes a problem

Engagement Details

  • Part-time contract, 16 hours per week across 4 days

  • On-site at the CXRE flagship space, Downtown Halifax

  • 6-month contract, July to December 2026

  • $8,000 total contract fee, paid in installments
